Sharp·PS™ SILVER can reduce anxiety, as indicated by the reduced time rats fed with Sharp·PS™ SILVER spent in the periphery (where rats feel secure and protected), and the increased time they spent in the non-periphery, as compared to placebo, SB-PS, and fish oil (Figure 1).

Figure 1: Elderly rats were supplemented for three months with soybean PS (SB-PS), fish oil, Sharp·PS™ SILVER, or placebo (MCT). Rats were pre-treated with scopolamine prior to the maze task. This agent, known to induce amnesia, is commonly used as a model for memory decline or dementia. Morris water maze was applied to assess rats' behavioral performance in conditions that induce fear disruption (such as anxiety) characterized by rats' spending increased time in the peripheral zone of the water maze. The percentage of time spent in different maze areas, was analyzed.
